Youth Hostel at Kemsing

Although Sevenoaks town does not have a Youth Hostel within the town perimiter, there is one just a few miles away at Kemsing. An adequate bus route takes you into the heart of the town.

Sevenoaks Volunteer Centre

One of the best ways to improve your language skills is to work together with others of your age group in a pleasant and happy environment.

Sevenoaks Volunteer Centre is a co-ordinating agency matching volunteers with local organisations and individuals. The Volunteer is at the centre of our activities. It is his or her individual interests, preferences and skills that determine the eventual placement and matching process. We aim to find every Volunteer the type of work that will give them the most satisfaction. The Centre receives over 1000 requests a year for help in many different ways.

The National Trust
Working Holidays

Here is another suggestion:
The National Trust maintains thousands of old historical buildings and areas of great beauty throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland. These properties are in continual need of repair and maintenance which is partially accomplished using volunteers who pay a very low weekly rate but live in a friendly, cooperative working environment. In all some 80.000 thousand worldwide volunteers have participated in this scheme over the years. In 2002 they offer 430 working holidays for the 17 through 70 in different age groups. You must pick the holiday to suit you. If you live within the Rheinbach catchment area, the
"Friends of Sevenoaks e.V.) will help you with any arrangements. We are, however, not a travel agent.
